The project will provide learners with the opportunity to apply their knowledge of accounting, finance, and business technology to a real-world ERP implementation. The team will work on setting up accounting processes, migrating existing data to the new system, and conducting thorough system testing to ensure seamless integration. Additionally, learners will explore automation opportunities using Power Automate to streamline business operations. This project is designed to give students hands-on experience with ERP systems and business intelligence tools, preparing them for future roles in business technology and finance.
- Business Central Deployment Support: Assist in configuring and testing Business Central for financial and operational workflows.
- Accounting & Data Migration: Support chart of accounts setup, journal entries, and historical data migration from legacy systems.
- Automation & Process Improvement: Develop and test Power Automate workflows to streamline financial processes (e.g., invoice approvals, reporting).
- BI & Reporting: Assist in Power BI dashboard creation and financial reporting automation.
- User Training & Documentation: Help create guides and training materials for accounting and finance teams.
- System Troubleshooting: Identify and assist in resolving system or data issues.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a business, accounting, finance, or IT-related post-secondary program.
- Accounting Knowledge: Understanding of general accounting principles, financial statements, and bookkeeping.
- ERP & Software Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP systems is an asset.
- Automation & BI: Exposure to Power Automate, Power BI, or Excel VBA is a plus.
- Technical Aptitude: Comfortable working with data, system configurations, and automation tools.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to improve financial workflows.
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.
