Business Analytics Practicum - Fall 2025
INFO 588-91
Beginning in September 2025, student consultants from the Master of Science in Business Analytics program will work with your organization to identify and formulate a business problem that can be addressed using the analytical approaches that have been covered in this degree program. This course is designed to provide an experiential opportunity for the students to apply their Business Analytics skills in solving a real business problem. In this course, students will work on a collaborative group or individual project that addresses, ideally, a live business problem using the analytical techniques learned in the other courses comprising this major. Students will clearly articulate the business problem and the goals of their chosen analytical approach. They will have access to realistically big data and an opportunity to appreciate, through an application, the possibilities and limitations of these analytical techniques. Students will be placed in companies and expected to understand and communicate the business implications of their analysis to interested stakeholders. Companies are welcome to take on more than one student team.

MBA Students Business Co-Op Projects
BUGN 577
Partner with Montclair MBA students in a semester-long Co-op Experience to support your organization’s goals while helping shape emerging talent. This hands-on program connects students with professional organizations for 150 - 200 hours of meaningful work experience over the course of a semester. These hours are split into approximately 10 - 12 hours per week. While students complete separate academic assignments to reflect on industry trends, professional skills, and career pathways, your organization will benefit from their direct contributions to real-world projects. Student teams will gain professional experience by working directly for a site supervisor who provides mentorship, project guidance, direction, and feedback throughout the semester. This collaboration is an opportunity to empower future professionals while gaining fresh perspectives for your team. Organizations must meet the following criteria to participate: Provide a project that fits the time requirement of 150 - 200 hours. Offer practical training and mentorship aligned with organizational goals, offering students meaningful, timely, and continuous feedback. Designate a staff member to supervise student work and facilitate regular check-ins. Complete brief progress reports and participate in a virtual site visit with faculty advisors. Commit to supporting a learning experience that enhances both student development and project outcomes.
