Project Examples

Requirements

Beginning this January, a group of four student-consultants will spend 80 hours solving a data analytics challenge that is currently affecting your organization.

Based on and challenge or opportunity of your choice, student groups will apply quantitative analysis tools to uncover trends and patterns in publicly-available organizational data. They will convey findings using interactive data visualization methods.

The findings of the data analysis and visualization will assist you in informed decision making.

Past work examples include:

  • Determining home sale prices by neighborhood based on county data, online real estate marketplaces, and structural features.

  • Establishing discharge and outcome probability of patients admitted to ICUs using data mining.

  • Predicting determinant variables and patterns that influence auto accidents in NYC.

  • Structuring ad revenue and pricing for online media sites, based on article shares.

  • Improving warehouse operational efficiency for a real-world distribution company.
