canva (software) airtable scheduling social media planning administrative support community outreach content creation google calendar social media content social mediaThe objective of this project is to support the growth and impact of the BPES Community Hub by developing tools, strategies, and content that enhance our outreach, digital engagement, and booking coordination. This includes identifying local partnerships, growing our social media presence, and improving how we onboard and support hub users. The ultimate goal is to ensure that our hub becomes a welcoming, inclusive, and highly utilized space that meets the needs of Saskatchewan’s Black entrepreneurs, professionals, and community members.
Students are expected to complete the following tasks and provide these deliverables to help strengthen the BPES Community Hub’s outreach, digital engagement, and internal systems.
Tasks
- Community Outreach Research
- Identify 10 to 15 local nonprofits, cultural groups, or business organizations that align with the hub’s mission.
- Draft outreach templates such as email scripts, call scripts, or social media messages.
- Social Media Planning and Content Creation
- Develop a 4-week content calendar for Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Design two to three branded content pieces (such as Canva graphics, short-form videos, or story templates).
- Recommend strategies to grow the organization’s online reach and engagement.
- Administrative Support Tools
- Audit the current hub booking or room scheduling process.
- Propose or prototype a simple booking system using free tools like Google Calendar, Airtable, or Notion.
- Create a digital onboarding checklist or guide for hub visitors or volunteers.
- Event and Workshop Support Toolkit
- Draft a one-page welcome guide for first-time workshop attendees or facilitators.
- Suggest best practices for check-in, room setup, and post-event cleanup.
Deliverables
- A community outreach research summary (in PDF or presentation format).
- A digital outreach toolkit including contact tracker and outreach message templates.
- A four-week social media content calendar with two to three sample posts.
- An audit of the current booking system along with recommendations or a prototype.
- A one-page onboarding guide for visitors or volunteers.
- A final summary report or presentation outlining the work completed and recommendations.
Providing specialized, in-depth knowledge and general industry insights for a comprehensive understanding.
Sharing knowledge in specific technical skills, techniques, methodologies required for the project.
Direct involvement in project tasks, offering guidance, and demonstrating techniques.
Providing access to necessary tools, software, and resources required for project completion.
Scheduled check-ins to discuss progress, address challenges, and provide feedback.

Our organization, Black Professionals and Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan, is a community non-profit membership association. We strive to address the deeper issues that individuals face, particularly newcomers from the Black community, youth and professionals who identify with the Black diaspora in Saskatchewan.
