Details

Aviary Tech is seeking to transition its innovative smart lock prototype into full-scale production. The goal of this project is to refine the existing design to enhance manufacturability, ensuring that the product can be efficiently and cost-effectively produced at scale. This involves selecting suitable materials that balance cost, durability, and functionality, as well as evaluating various production methods to determine the most efficient approach. Additionally, the project requires identifying supply chain requirements to support large-scale production and estimating costs to ensure the product remains scalable and reliable. The project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of product design, materials science, and production processes in a real-world context.

Deliverables

The project deliverables include a comprehensive report detailing the refined design for manufacturability, a list of recommended materials, and an evaluation of potential production methods. Additionally, learners will provide a supply chain analysis outlining the necessary components and suppliers, along with a cost estimation report to ensure scalability and reliability. These deliverables will demonstrate the learners' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges in product development and manufacturing.
